David Williams MP said it was a pleasure to meet, listen to and thank the servicemen and women of the Mercian Regiment in Parliament this evening.
He also had the opportunity to meet Private Derby, the Regiment’s mascot — a magnificent Swaledale ram.
David highlighted that the Mercian Regiment is the Heart of England’s Infantry, recruiting from the five counties of the ancient Kingdom of Mercia: Staffordshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire. He expressed his gratitude for everything they do.
