I’ve previously welcomed students from St Margaret Ward to Parliament and supported careers events and taken part in a Q&A session with students there. ✅ I then met with Miss Haycock from St Thomas CofE Primary Academy in Kidsgrove. Miss Haycock is one of 65 Parliamentary Teacher Ambassadors from across the country – a programme to encourage children and young people to understand how Parliament works. I look forward to visiting the school soon. ✅ I’ve now visited over a third of schools across our area – something I love to do.

🏦 TUNSTALL BANKING HUB 🏦 ✅️ When Lloyds announced it was to close its Tunstall Branch last year, I promised you that I would work hard to secure a banking hub for the town. ✅️ I am really pleased that a new Banking Hub is now open at that Tunstall Post Office and I’ve really enjoyed working alongside Aaron and his excellent team there. ✅️ Currently, Natwest is in the hub on Wednesdays and Barclays on Thursdays. Halifax will soon begin services on Tuesdays and Lloyds will offer services from Mondays when the existing branch closes in early March. I am also working with Aaron to secure more banks to provide services through the hub.

🏥 EXTRA £2M SECURED FOR ROYAL STOKE & COUNTY HOSPITALS 🏥 ✅️ Our local hospitals have been awarded an extra £2 million after having cut waiting times for non-urgent procedures. The figures are the 8th best across all acute Trusts countrywide. ✅️ This is good progress — but I know there is much more to do, especially for those who have waited far too long already. I also know how important it is to address ambulances being stuck outside A&E. ✅️ I do, though, want to thank our incredibly hard working staff. From porters to ward assistants, nurses to doctors, cleaners to consultants, they all work tirelessly to look after us and our families.
