Pride in Place - David Williams MP

PIP (Pride in Place) is a chance to shape the future of your community. It is about giving local people real power over the future of their area. Over the next ten years, up to £20 million will be invested into Bradeley, Chell Heath and Fegg Hayes and it is up to the people who live and work in the area to decide how that money is spent. They are among the 244 neighbourhoods across Great Britain that have been selected by Government for Pride in Place support. This is about improving everyday life and focusing on what matters most to the community.

What does Pride in Place mean for you?

Decisions on how to spend this money is made locally, not by government.

A Neighbourhood Board, made up of local people, will lead the work.
The Board must listen to residents and involve the wider community in shaping priorities.
Funding can be used on projects that matter most to you!

The chair of the Bradeley, Chell Heath and Fegg Hayes board is Patrick Shanahan.

“I am honoured to have been elected as Chair of Pride in Place for Bradeley, Chell Heath and Fegg Hayes. The role represents a natural continuation of the work I have been involved in through the Vale Park Community Campus. As Chair, my aim is to help in bringing together residents, local organisations, councillors and partners around a shared plan that is ambitious, fair and firmly rooted in the needs of the area. I am therefore delighted to have the opportunity to contribute further to the wider impact we are already having across the city.”

What can the funding be used for?

Communities choose what to focus on. This could include things like:

Improving high streets, local buildings, or community spaces
Making homes warmer and more energy‑efficient
Creating jobs, training, or opportunities for young people
Bringing people together through community events and activities
Supporting health, wellbeing, and access to green spaces
Making streets safer or improving transport and active travel

These are just examples; you get to decide what’s right for where you live.
