Today, the city declared a heritage emergency, and it was right to do so. While this may sound stark, as Stokies we all know these words are accurate and that urgent action is needed now.
David is pleased that the Council is committing £6.5 million to crucial works, including at the Wedgwood Institute and Burslem Indoor Market. However, the reality is that no one organisation can do this alone.
It is time for partners, government, funders and owners to come together to safeguard, protect and revitalise these incredible buildings.
Since being elected, David has repeatedly raised the importance of heritage buildings in Westminster and will continue to do so. From the conversations he has had with residents, he knows that saving heritage buildings means so much to local families and is vital for the city’s pride and its future.
