Tunstall Banking Hub
In March 2026, the last bank branch in Tunstall, Lloyds, closed. This closure follows those of other major banks such as Barclays, Natwest, and the Cooperative. This is a significant setback for the people of Tunstall, particularly those who depend on these branches.

When Lloyds announced its closure, I pledged to the residents that I would work diligently to ensure the town retained access to face-to-face banking services. I have supported a campaign to establish a Banking Hub in Tunstall, aiding residents and businesses in maintaining access to crucial banking services in the town centre. The service is provided by Cash Access UK, allowing residents to visit the new banking hub at Tunstall Post Office on High Street, where they can access NatWest, Barclays, Halifax, and Lloyds.
The hub is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, and users can deposit cash and cheques, withdraw notes and coins, check balances, pay utility bills, top up gas and electricity, and access change-giving services for registered businesses. Additionally, you can arrange face-to-face appointments with community bankers from your own bank for more complex inquiries, including payments, transfers, account management, and support with online banking.

“The securing of a banking hub is a significant win for our town. We are grateful to David Williams MP for his hard work and determination in ensuring residents and businesses continue to have access to vital banking services locally in Tunstall” – Aaron Elanchelian, Banking Hub Manager
“I am proud to have helped secure this Banking Hub for Tunstall. Too many residents and small businesses have been affected by bank closures, and people should not have to travel long distances just to access basic banking services.” – David Williams MP
